• Lenny Kravitz is opening up about his family in a new documentary, Looking Back on Love, out today. He filmed the documentary while recording his latest album, Black and White America in the Bahamas. “For me, it’s about my life,” said Kravitz. “It’s about what I grew up in, what I know, what I feel comfortable in, the juxtaposition between the two.” He also takes time to look at how his parents came together in a bi-racial relationship in the ’60s. • Randy Jackson was honored at the National Association of Music Merchants breakfast recently with the “Music for Life” award for his astounding career and efforts in the industry. “Throughout his career, Randy Jackson has served as an ambassador for music in all its forms—as a musician, a writer, collaborator and producer,” said NAMM president and CEO Joe Lamond. “His enthusiasm for the musicians he interacts with on American Idol is unabashed and real, and truly comes from an organic place. • NFL star Ray Lewis will be honored at this year’s Super Bowl Gospel Celebration with the Lifetime of Inspiration Award. The award has only been given out once before in history and that was to former NFL head coach Tony Dungy in 2009. Lewis will retire this Sunday after he plays in the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers. [12 News Now]
