Dark Skin Activist Slams Kendrick Lamar’s Engagement

Not everyone is happy about Kendrick Lamar’s engagement to his high school sweetheart. Dark skin activist Rashida Strober of the Dark Skin Is Beautiful Campaign took to Facebook to call for a boycott of the rapper’s music because he is marrying a light skinned woman.

“Another fake conscious motherf-cker exposed. I will never support him nor his music with one dime of my money and encourage all dark skinned women not to either!” she wrote. [Madame Noire]

Black Scholar Accepted to All Eight Ivy League Schools

One lucky high school student is going to have quite a hard time narrowing down his college choices. Harold Ekeh, a Nigerian American senior from New York, was accepted into all eight Ivy League schools.

“I am very humbled by this. I see this as not an accomplishment for me, but as an accomplishment for my school, my community,” Ekeh said, “Because I really see this as my mission to inspire the next generation.”

Ekeh says he’s leaning toward Yale but wherever he goes, he plans to study biochemistry and hopes to one day find a cure to Alzheimer’s disease. [Black Enterprise]

Rihanna Calls Out Indiana’s Religious Freedom Law

By now you’ve heard that the Indiana government is passing a “religious freedom” law that allows business owners to refuse service to LGBTQ people. Well, Rihanna is not having any of that. Before performing at the March Madness Music Fest in Indianapolis on Saturday, RiRi vented her feelings.

“Who’s feeling these new bullsh-t laws they’re trying to pass over here?” she said to the crowd. “I say ‘F-ck that sh-t!’ I want to hear you say ‘F-ck that sh-t’ Cause we’re just living our motherf-cking lives, Indiana!” [Colorlines]
