• This Saturday, the night before the 2013 Grammy Awards, CBS will air a special tracking how their production team reacted to Whitney Houston’s death last year. The behind-the-scenes look shows how they pulled off a tribute special just hours before the telecast. “It was a tricky situation,” said LL Cool J. “I was in kind of no-man’s land because you’re both mourning and celebrating.” Tune in this Saturday for The Grammys Will Go On: A Death in the Family. • Chris Brown is in hot water with the law this morning. The singer is being investigated for allegedly faking his community service sentence. In 2009, he was sentenced to 180 days of community service. Since then, papers have been filed claiming he did 202 days of service. However, some of the days indicated Brown was on tour and was clearly unable to be present in Virginia. Los Angeles officials want Brown’s community service documents tossed out and they want him to serve them in L.A. [Fox News]
• President Obama will make his way to Israel for the first time in his presidency this spring. He will also visit the West Bank and Jordan on his trip. National Security Council Spokesman Tommy Vietor said, “The start of the president’s second term and the formation of a new Israeli government offer the opportunity to reaffirm the deep and enduring bonds between the United Stats and Israel and to discuss the way forward on a broad range of issues of mutual concern, including Iran and Syria.” [Grio]
• Queen Latifah has struck a lucrative deal with popular movie service Netflix. She will reportedly allow the company to stream any of the movies her production company, Flavor Unity, has produced. Netflix will also be the first to get access any new material the company produces. [Grio]
