Alicia Keys

Alicia Keys is so passionate about HIV/AIDS awareness that, to date, her Keep a Child Alive foundation has raised nearly $3 million in funds for the treatment and care of people living with the disease.

Jennifer Hudson

Hudson recently signed on to be a part of Alicia Keys’ “Buy Life” campaign to raise funds for HIV/AIDS programs. She has also lent her time to Bid 2 Beat AIDS.

Sheryl Lee Ralph

After years of losing friends to AIDS, diva Sheryl Lee Ralph founded the annual DIVA’s Simply Singing fundraiser to honor those who’ve lost the battle and also raise money for HIV/AIDS awareness.

Mary J. Blige

Blige’s FFAWN foundation has teamed up with BET’s Rap-it-Up campaign to educate young women about AIDS. She’s also worked with MAC Cosmetics’ Viva Glam HIV/AIDS awareness campaign.

Through the Magic Johnson Foundation, both Magic (who is HIV positive) and Cookie have worked tirelessly to create awareness the prevention surrounding HIV/AIDS.

Serena recently signed on to be a part of Alicia Keys’ “Buy Life” campaign to raise funds for HIV/AIDS programs.

Malaak Compton-Rock

Malaak Compton-Rock has dedicated her life to community service. Her AngelRock Project recently took inner-city youth from New York City to South Africa for a cultural exchange and HIV/AIDS awareness.

Aside from her acting duties, Jurnee Smollett is an HIV/AIDS activist and board member of Artists for a New South Africa, a non-profit dedicated to combating HIV/AIDS in Africa.

An AIDS activist off-screen, actor Blair Underwood even has a free HIV/AIDS clinic named after him in Washington D.C. He has even participated in the AIDS Helthcare Foundations “Man Up” campaign to get more men tested for the disease.

The flamboyant entertainer lends his time to several AIDS charities including Aid for AIDS, and the Ali Forney Center in New York City.

The Tom Joyner Foundation has raised nearly $55 million for HBCU’s recently announcing plans to donate $500,000 to fund HIV/AIDS awareness initiatives at six historically Black colleges.

The music mogul with a big heart has supported several AIDS causes including LifeBeat, a non-profit that mobilizes the music industry to educate youth about the epidemic.
