Veteran actor Blair Underwood will star in the NBC remake of the 1960’s series Ironside.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the show was picked up to pilot and will follow Robert T. Ironside (Underwood), who is confined to a wheelchair after a shooting as he and his team work to solve several cases.
Underwood is no stranger to primetime television. He started on NBC’s The Event recently. He has also made appearances on In Treatment, Sex and the City and The New Adventures of Old Christine.
The series will reportedly be written and executive produced by Michael Caleo. Other executive producers include David Semel, Teri Weinberg, John Davis and Jon Fox.
It’s unclear when NBC will make a final decision about picking up the show for a full season.
