Beyonce’s epic performance, with Coldplay and Bruno Mars, is all anyone’s talking about.
A day after dropping her politically-charged video, “Formation,” Beyoncé continued to stoke our curiosity by having her dancers wear black berets and leather jackets that resemble the uniform of The Black Panthers. Bey’s mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, shared a backstage pic of dancers holding up Black power fists. Yaaaasss!
Originally known as the Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, The Black Panther organization was founded on October 15, 1966 by Huey Newton and Bobby Seale in Oakland, California. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the organization’s formation.
