Coffee Talk: Barry Bonds' Ex-Mistress Testifies in Trial

Take a look at why we're choosing jasmine tea over coffee this sunny morning: Nelson Mandela will tweet, "Madea's Family Reunion" star Rochelle Aytes will star in a new ABC pilot, Common's foundation will honor several Black women including Dr. Maya Angelou, KeKe Palmer and Sherri Shepherd, and Barry Bonds' ex-mistress gave shocking testimony yesterday — indicating that he did indeed knowingly use steroids. Here's what you had to say: Hope commented via Facebook: "This is one reason why it doesn't pay to cheat." Kiana wrote via Facebook: "Talk about putting your business in the streets and on the record for that matter."

Take a look at why we’re choosing jasmine tea over coffee this sunny morning:

  • Barry Bonds’ ex-mistress, Kimberly Bell, testified against him in court yesterday. She maintained that he allegedly threaten to “cut her head off” and “cut out her breast implants” because he paid for them. She went on to give thrilling testimony detailing his body, indicating shrunken testicles, back acne and hair loss — all signs of steroid use. He’s on trial for allegedly lying to a federal grand jury in 2003 that he didn’t use performance-enhancement drugs. [Huffington Post]

  • “Desperate Housewives” and “Madea’s Family Reunion” star Rochelle Aytes is set to join ABC’s newest pilot “Work It.” Aytes will play Vanessa, the boss of Lee and Angel, who are two out-of-work car salesmen. We’re loving that Aytes career is expanding and she’s taking on new projects all time. [Hollywood Reporter]

  • Ever wanted to follow a world leader on Twitter? Now is your chance. The Nelson Mandela Foundation is launching a Twitter account and Mandela himself will tweet from time to time! [The Grio]

  • Angie Stone was arrested in Georgia for allegedly driving on a suspended license and speeding. According to TMZ, she was released about an hour later. You would think she’d know better. [TMZ]

  • Chris Brown is slated to perform on an upcoming episode of “Dancing with the Stars.” However, its host, Tom Bergeron, said he doesn’t want him on the show and will not speak to him because he can’t guarantee he won’t talk about last week’s fiasco. [Perez Hilton]

  • Common’s Ground Foundation Gala will honor Dr. Maya Angelou, KeKe Palmer and Sherri Shepherd in Chicago. The night’s festivities will include dinner, silent auction and entertainment and more. Tickets are $250 each and tables go for $2,250. [Eurweb]

  • Some time ago we reported that Ryan Murphy had signed on to direct Willow Smith’s “Annie” remake. Now, Deadline.com is reporting that he quit. The production of the film has now been put on pause. [Eurweb]
