Michael A. Kitchen was hired to work for Farrell Log Structures in Pisgah, North Carolina in February 2004 but had no idea that he was about to face a barrage of harassment from his  fellow workers. Kitchen  had nails thrown at him, was pelted with pieces of wood, shingles and even chicken bones during the dinner break,  and finally one day he says his co-workers threatened to hang him, according to the Citizen-Times.com. A federal jury awarded Kitchen $50,000 but ruled that the company’s owner was not responsible for creating an abusive work environment. -WLW
