- Curtis Jackson, the rapper commonly known as 50 Cent, is denying domestic violence charges brought on by an ex-girlfriend who claims the rapper trashed her home and physically assaulted her. A statement from Jackson’s lawyer read, “Curtis Jackson denies these allegations as made against him. It is important to note, Mr. Jackson has not been arrested and there is no warrant outstanding for his arrest. We have been in contact with the LA City Attorney’s Office and are currently conducting our own investigation into these allegations.” Jackson is facing one misdemeanor count for domestic violence and four counts for vandalism. If found guilty, he could be hit with a maximum of five years in jail and a $46,000 fine. Jackson’s arraignment is set for July 22. [TMZ]
- After Beyonce reportedly bought Kim Kardashian an $11,800 Swarovski crystal-studded high chair for her baby shower, it comes as no surprise that she and Jay-Z continue to gift Kim and Kanye’s new baby girl with luxurious items. According to The Sun, Beyonce and Jay-Z are said to have spent over $7,500 on baby North West. Some of their lavish gifts include a fork, spoon, and cup set from Tiffany & Co, a pair of Christian Dior booties and a three-piece sterling silver Elsa Peretti Padova baby set engraved with North’s name. “Kanye is one of Jay-Z’s closest friends so he wanted to get the best gift,” a source told the newspaper. “They’ve had a girl themselves, so they know the right type of present.” [The Sun]
- Beyonce isn’t the only one showering others with love lately. Natalie Cole is praising the R&B icon for being such an influential artist and recently compared Queen Bey to Madonna. “I think that it’s going to be interesting to see where Beyonce’s career goes,” said Cole. “Because now I would say, she is the new Madonna. Girls want to look like her, they want to dress like her. I think that she could be a great influence. She is a nice girl, definitely not a “diva” in the sense of what we like to use as that definition.” [The Grio]
- VH1 reality show “The Gossip Game,” which gave an inside look into the lives of women in the media industry working in New York City, will not return for a second season. Cast member Vivian Billings confirmed the cancellation on her blog and added how she never thought the show would survive on the network. “Our show never even had a chance,” wrote the reality star.” No official reason has been offered as to why the show will not be making it back on the network.[MTV]
