Rep. Juliana Stratton
Rep. Juliana Stratton, who was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, currently lives in Bronzeville. Educated at the University of Illinois and DePaul University College of Law, Stratton has run her own small business for more than 20 years and is also a professional mediator. She describes criminal-justice reform as a “lifelong passion.” As director of the Center for Public Safety and Justice at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she trained law-enforcement officers on building trust in the communities they serve.
The progressive Stratton entered the Illinois House of Representatives in 2017, and now she is running on a ticket with Democratic gubernatorial candidate J.B. Pritzker. “I’ve spent my life trying to fight for what’s right and I am looking forward to continuing this work with JB. As a state representative, I spend every day fighting for my constituents and as lieutenant governor you will be able to count on me to stand up for you,” she wrote on the campaign website
