“Reggie allows me to be myself without any judgments,” says Renee’, when asked why she couldn’t wait to be his wife.
“I actually found my dress on the first day I looked,” says Renee’. “It was the seventh dress I tried on – lucky number ‘7’.”
When it was time to get pretty, Renee’ relied on hair help from Nubiance Hair Salon and makeup styling from Angela Lieben to complete her wedding day look.
Renee’ chose brightly colored Jimmy Choo stilettos for her big day, and we love every inch of them.
Reggie wore a custom suit designed by Tom James. “He wanted something that was fashion forward and followed the trends of the season,” says Renee’. (And, check out that tie!)
“I wanted something that was sexy and showed off my curves,” says Renee’ of her stunning gown. “As soon as I tried on the dress and walked out of the dressing room, the expression on everyone’s faces was priceless.”
‘I didn’t want to feel hidden, so I chose not to wear a traditional veil,” says the bride. “Instead, I wore a birdcage veil which served more as an accesory to the side chignon. The only pieces of jewelry I wore were a tennis bracelet and fuschia chandelier earrings.”
For her flower scheme, Renee’ asked florist Edge Design Group to utilize dendrodium orchids, orange ranunculous, peonies and roses in her wedding colors to decorate the events of the day.
“I love Reggie’s heart most,” Renee’ tells us. Aww! These two are the sweetest. We can feel the love.
We hope all brides remember to smile as big as Renee’ did on her special day. “I was ambivalent about finding true love,” she tells us. “I enjoyed dating and had high expectations of men. At the time, I was planning on moving back to Los Angeles, my hometown. So, I would say love caught me completely off guard.”
“Each of my bridesmaids voted on their favorite dress out of the ones provided,” says Renee’. “They unanimously picked the same one, which worked out beautifully.” We’ll say!
“Reggie chose the groomsman looks,” says Renee’. “It came from Men’s Warehouse.”
The whole gang strikes a pose for the cameras as the happy couple continue their modern-themed wedding festivities with a fun photo shoot against a cool urban backdrop.
Pretty petals lined the aisle in Renee’ and Reggie’s chic and modern ceremony venue as guests prepared to watch the lovebirds make it official.
Reggie watches proudly as Renee’ begins her march down the aisle. The bride’s cousin Keisha and her maid of honor Wendy helped her plan most of the details for their big day.
Renee’s stepfather escorted her down the stairs and her mother then joined them so the three of them could walk down the aisle together. “I walked down the aisle to ‘You’ by Jesse Powell,” she tells us.
Renee’ and Reggie met at the altar at 7pm on a Friday evening. We love the elegance and romance of their modern evening ceremony. “Overall our ceremony décor was very simple, but eye catching,” says the bride.
During the ceremony, the couple exchanged vows than paid tribute to Renee’s father and Reggie’s aunt who are both deceased. “We honored them by having a family member light a candle on their behalf,” she adds.
Candlelight and rose petals along the aisles instantly set the mood for romance.
After a sweet lip-lock, Mr. and Mrs. Hill are now officially husband and wife and it’s not hard to tell that they’re thrilled about it.
Renee’s Winnie Couture gown was absolutely stunning from head-to-toe and from every angle. We’re so in love with this portrait of the happy bride who patiently waited for the love of her life, and found him in the most unexpected place.
Reggie’s five closest friends were right by his side. (And the bride’s too!)
“The overall theme of the wedding was opposing forces,” says Renee’. “Masculine and feminine. Urban and elegance. Fire and ice.” We love how the couple’s photographer, Taun Henderson, was able to capture their theme for the cameras.
To get the party started right, the newlyweds entered the reception to the sounds of their favorite rapper, Jay-Z.
Bakery Jilly’s Cupcakery served cupcakes decorated in the couple’s signature colors.
Renee and Reggie’s first dance was as romantic as their love story.
Nearly 200 guests showed up to party the night away with Renee’ and Reggie. They asked the DJ to spin West Coast and Southern hits to pay tribute to the bride and groom. It sure looks like it was a great party!
Seriously, we wish we’d gotten an invite to this party! #goodtimes
