“It felt amazing,” Myriam said. “My flowers were glorious, my dress fit perfectly and everything was absolutely magical.”

“I felt like I was getting ready to attend the Grammy’s and accept an award for Best Actor,” Pierre said. “I knew the look I wanted for my wedding. It was an amazing feeling knowing that this look came to fruition.”

Dream Dress
“I saw a dress on Pinterest that I absolutely loved and turned out to be made by a designer in Australia and very expensive,” said Myriam. “I went to a few stores and I found a few that I liked a lot. I wanted a fitted style, not strapless, backless, elegant and fun. It took about 4 months and I was disappointed a few times because I felt like what I wanted was outside my budget. As soon as I put on the mermaid style gown, I was sold.”

Something Borrowed
“My something borrowed was my sister’s head piece and I knew I wanted to wear it with my hair styled in a 1920’s fashion,” the bride shared.

The bride shared that once she got to the altar she was surprised that Pierre was shedding a few tears. “I felt happy, blissfully happy. I was surprised that he was crying because he was adamant before the wedding that he never cries!,” she said.

Greatest Gift
“His wedding gift to me was a pair of ruby earring that matched my engagement ring and a 4 page letter,” Said the bride. “Before graduating high school I asked him to write me a 4 page letter (referenced from Aaliyah’s song) but he just wrote me a note on the back of his prom picture. So as my wedding gift, this man/my husband, wrote this 4 page letter as if we were back in high school. Wow!”

“I’m marrying the girl that I met in the 2nd grade,” Pierre shared of how he felt looking at Myriam at the altar. “What are the chances of that happening? I felt like the luckiest man in the world.”

“My husband and I met in the 2nd grade,” said the bride. “By the 3rd grade I had a crush on him! We attended the same school and most of the same classes from 2nd grade through high school. I was the shy/book smart type and he was smart/popular/jock type. We remained friends even after high school into college and graduate school despite being in different schools and different states.”

“I asked and received a lot of guidance from God,” said Pierre of choosing to make Myriam his wife. “I decided to make her my wife because I knew I would be able to build a strong foundation with her for years to come. I knew she was my soulmate and it took me all these years to recognize this.”

“Yes, I knew in the back of my mind I would find true love and I knew I would be with her,” shared the groom. “I just didn’t know when. I knew I had a lot of growing up to do first. I was extremely blessed that our timing was impeccable.”

“We wanted to make sure our heritage was featured in our wedding so we chose a Haitian song as our first dance song. ‘Lanmou Doudou’ by Jacques Sauveur Jean was our song.”

“Four tier of white buttercream, each layer was a different flavor: rum, vanilla, lemon and almond,” said the bride. “Edible gold dots covered the top layer and gradually descended and faded. Black magic roses cascaded from the bottom 3 layers. A modern ‘Mr & Mrs’ sign sat atop the cake.”
