“I was exuberant when Nikki proposed,” says proud bride-to-be Monique. “I was giddy and very excited about building a life with my husband and felt that the next phase of my life was beginning.
Monique stunned in a Monique Lhuillier gown. “I knew it was the right dress the moment I tried it on,” she adds.
We love it when bride’s choose a classic, swept away, side-bun to accent a lovely strapless gown. Excellent choice, Monique.
Florist Plants n’ Petals crafted a gorgeous bouquet of roses, hydrangeas and gerbera daisies for the bouquets. Just lovely!
Monique rocked a vintage birdcage veil (a bridal favorite!) down the aisle to complement her old Hollywood glam theme.
“The man I married is spiritual, loyal and honest,” says proud bride Monique.
“I knew Nik was the one when we took a vacation to Paris three months after we began seriously dating,” says Monique. “I knew there was no one I’d rather share the experience with when I found myself looking forward to each new moment.”

Feathered headpieces and custom lace gowns for the bridesmaids was the perfect combo for a vintage glam look that was a total show-stopper.
The ladies’ gowns were champagne colored with mocha lace.

“I knew Monique was the one I wanted to spend my life with once we returned from our Paris vacation,” Nikki admits. “I looked back on the highlights of the trip with really fond memories. I felt like our interactions were effortless and we had an organic flow between us, whether it was in our conversations or the things we enjoyed doing. When we got back, I looked at her with new eyes and I knew we were moving in a serious direction.”
“Monique is very nurturing but also driven,” says Nikki. “Monique is able to be tenacious in her legal practice, but always kind and patient with me. I knew I had someone rare early on.”
Keeping things simple and traditional, Monique was escorted down the aisle by her father to the classic wedding march.
“We both shed tears during the ceremony,” shares the bride. We love a groom who isn’t afraid to just go with his emotions on his wedding day.
“We both recited traditional vows based on scripture,” she adds. “We knew God would be the foundation of our union and felt it appropriate to base our promises to one another on God’s word.”

When I looked into his eyes at the altar, I felt extremely grateful that we were led to one another,” Monique admits.
“It felt wonderful to be a bride and it was everything I had hoped it would be,” Monique insists.
“I underestimated the emotions I would have during the ceremony,” Nikki admits. “I was overwhelmed and by the time the reception began I felt a huge sense of relief.”
“I wasn’t expecting love to come so easily,” Monique admits. “I thought I’d meet someone but that it would be a struggle to mesh our views of the future. I thought that after a long and arduous process eventually I would get to that point with someone, but it wasn’t that way. We fell in love and realized fairly quickly that we wanted the same things and that we had very similar ideas of a successful relationship.”

Reception tables decorated with romantic lace tablecloths and vintage lounge furniture really helped to bring Monique and Nikki’s Hollywood glam theme home. Way to commit, you guys!
Monique and Nikki hosted an indoor reception after their cocktail hour. “We had an open bar and buffet style dinner that included southern favorites like jambalaya and gumbo,” she says. “The reception began at sunset and guests arrived at the first floor of the venue where they received cocktails prior to our and the bridal parties arrival. We entered to a fun, high-energy song.”

Monique didn’t leave a detail unplanned when it came to finding the perfect venue and décor to pull of her vintage-inspired theme. Check out those chairs! We bet they made awesome photo opps for the couple and their guests.
