Within their first year of dating, Keiwana just knew she’d found her mate for life. “He was my best friend and I couldn’t imagine spending life with anyone else,” she shares. See how their romantic “I dos” unfolded.
“My wedding dress was designed by Lazaro,” says Keiwana. “It wasn’t very difficult finding it compared to stories I’ve heard from other brides. I went to Bridal by Lori to film Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta with close family and friends. I tried on maybe seven dresses before I found the one. The hardest part of the process was finding the silhouette that was the most flattering.”
Have you ever seen a more beautiful pair of bridal heels? Absolutely fabulous!
“I picked a dress that was completely different than what I thought I was looking for,” says Keiwana. “I knew it was the one because it made me cry when I saw myself in the mirror.”
“My accessories included a beaded and crystal headpiece as well as a fingertip length veil,” says Keiwana. “I also wore diamond studs that match my engagement ring.”
“I never pictured myself as being a bride so it was a little surreal,” says Keiwana. “I’ve never felt more beautiful than I did that day. It was an experience that I will always carry with me and cherish.”
The bride had an extra (and equally fabulous!) dress on hand to swap out on her big day.
“The bridesmaid’s dresses were designed by Amsale,” says the bride. “The color and style was decided by what I thought would look good on everyone in the bridal party. The color selected was a slate gray. I wanted this color to complement the blush pink flowers.”
The groomsman were super dapper in Jean Yves. “We knew that we wanted something different from the traditional black tux so we decided on the color gray,” Keiwana explains. “I picked out the tux but the groom did the final approval.”
The bride’s gown was fierce from all angles. Wouldn’t you agree?
What a picture-perfect group! Fashionable and having fun. That’s the way to do it.
“It felt great to be a groom,” says Kyle. “I was proud of the man that I have become and I knew that my mother would be just as proud of me.”
“The man I married is self-less, loving, supporting, caring, and has always put me and our relationship first,” says the bride. Sounds like a keeper to us!
“The woman I married is remarkable to say the least,” says Keiwana. “She has helped me in countless areas in my personal development and has been supportive of my business ventures.”
A custom aisle lined the path that Keiwana took to meet her future husband at the altar.
“The flowers for the wedding and reception centerpieces were a mix of hydrangeas, roses and lilies,” says Keiwana. “I had lots of white flowers as well as blush pink flowers. My bouquet included white nosegay roses. The florist really helped me choose the flowers because I was unsure of what I wanted. After seeing the options I had that’s the look we decided on. We wanted it to be a romantic feel in the reception room.”
“When deciding on a venue we wanted something that was spacious enough for the ceremony and reception as well as cocktail hour,” says Keiwana. “We really wanted a venue that would accommodate our guest without everyone standing on top of each other. We also wanted an appealing place for photography as well as a place that had dedicated parking. Our venue had plenty of room for everything that we wanted and needed.”
“My father walked me down the aisle,” says Keiwana. “It was important for me for the first man in my life to give me away to the last man in my life.”
Here comes the bride! Keiwana walked down the aisle to a romantic favorite, India.Arie’s “A Beautiful Surprise.”
And the award for cutest ring-bearer ever goes to….this kid! Adorable!
Keiwana and her maid of honor planned the wedding day to perfection.
“I was elated when we were at the altar,” the bride admits. “I can’t recall a time where I have been happier than I was at that moment. I felt all the love and joy in the world in that moment. I didn’t realize that it was possible for me to love him more than I already did until that very moment.”
“I cried when he said his vows,” says Keiwana. The couple held a traditional, indoor ceremony that was very emotional for everyone there.
“We both wrote our own vows,” says the bride. “For me that was one of the most stressful things, but well worth it. Our vows made the ceremony much more meaningful to the both of us.”
The couple’s first kiss as husband and wife was as romantic as they are in the movies.
“Marriage was the only route to initiate having her forever, so proposing was a no-brainer,” Kyle shares.
The couple transformed their reception space into a decadent display of romantic flowers, candles and décor.
Could a first dance moment be any more picture-perfect? Yeah, we think not!
“Our first dance song was ‘For You’ by Kenny Lattimore as well as ‘Party Rock Anthem’ by LMFAO,” says Keiwana. “The groom and I choreographed our own dance at the end of the first dance song.”
“The overall theme was romance,” says the lovely bride. “The style was modern luxe. The colors that we chose were grey and blush pink.”
There was no shortage of custom elegance on Keiwana and Kyle’s big day. Cheers to the happy couple!
The couple made sure their guests had an amazing time celebrating with them. They hired a deejay, live band, a photo booth station and a full bar to keep things exciting.
“The thing I love most about him is his character and compassion,” says Keiwana. “He’s one of the most open minded and least judgmental people that I know.”
The couple’s guest sure knew how to party. That’s the way to do it!
