Andrea says their first date was special because it was so different than any other date she’d gone on before. “I felt like I was talking to a best friend,” she shares.
Ejim remembers when they’d just begun dating and Andrea said to him, “I think…that you and I just click.” At the time all he could think was that he couldn’t have agreed more.
When Ejim first saw Andrea he admits that he thought she was “strikingly pretty” and “she had an elegance about her that drew me in.”
During the Egyptian revolution in January, Andrea was stuck in Cairo, and for two days Ejim couldn’t get a hold of her while he called the hotel and U.S. embassy with no luck. Her flight was the last commercial flight to leave Cairo and when they reunited at the airport they felt even closer to one another.
Andrea knew Ejim was the one when he held her close during nights when she had a tough time dealing with her mother’s illness. “That was exactly what I needed at that moment,” she says. “It was during that difficult time that I knew he was The One.”

Andrea and Ejim fell in love hopping back and forth between different New York City Pinkberrys together. Ejim says they will always be some of his most cherished memories with Andrea.
