01
A Few Good Men

We rounded up the hottest single Black men in the areas of music, politics, film and more. Ladies, these brothers are in a word…F-I-N-E! It was a tough job, but someone had to do it.

Columbus Short is passionate on-screen, and the actor and dancer is even more so in real life. After dating in the industry, he admits to preferring an everyday woman.

Laz Alonso

Beyond his good looks and acting chops, Alonso has a sharp mind. Before heading to Hollywood, he worked in finance on Wall Street, and now works on inventions in his spare time. He also wants sisters to continue to believe in him and other brothers.

“I don’t want Black women to lose faith in love and in their Black man,” he told ESSENCE.com.

Michael Ealy

We’ve been down with this intense brother with the gorgeous eyes since he was getting blamed for taking Eve’s apple juice in “Barbershop.” And it’s great to know he loves us right back.

“One of the things that I genuinely love about Black women is that they genuinely seem to love me,” he tells ESSENCE.com. “It’s special and I wouldn’t be where I am without it.”

04
Marlon Wayans

This funnyman was keeping us in stitches with his siblings as a teen, and we must say he’s blossomed into quite a handsome fella. A cutie pie who can also make us laugh? We’ll take him!

05
Pharrell Williams

This southern gent (with the adorable smile) has conquered music as both a producer and an artist and his Billion Boys Club clothing line has made vets in the fashion industry take notice. Not bad for a skater dude from Virginia.

06
Malik Yoba

Chocolate cutie pie Malik Yoba has the face, body and brains that always make us want to do a double-take. Whether he’s acting on the small screen, the large screen, or the stage, this Hollywood hottie only gets better with time.

07
Omari Hardwick

Armed with sex appeal and swag to boot, this actor heats up the screen no matter what the part. But we also like his positive take on life. Hardwick, who lost his son last fall, says, “I just have to keep on moving and remember to smell the roses.”

08
Savion Glover

This award-winning dancer stole our hearts in his breakout Broadway performance, “The Tap Dance Kid.” Whether he’s battling Diddy in a music video or schooling youth in his native Newark, New Jersey, on the history of tap dancing, Glover is a (handsome) man with a plan.

09
Mario

The beautiful ballads that this young crooner belts out are enough to make us weak in the knees. Add the fact that Mario has been an advocate for children of drug-addicted parents like himself makes Mario a certified Do Right Man.

10
Andre 3000

Behold, a gentleman. This southern guy helped redefine what hip-hop is as one half of OutKast, and stole many hearts in the process.

11
Mehcad Brooks

As a University of Southern California film school grad who “stumbled” into acting, Brooks is fast becoming a member of Hollywood’s MVP club. With a body that just won’t quit and a winning role on the hit show “True Blood,” we can’t wait to see what he has in store for us next.

12
Corey Booker

As the mayor of Newark, New Jersey, Booker has committed his life to transforming one of the nation’s most troubled cities. We’re in love with his dedication to his people…and those dreamy eyes and striking smile don’t hurt either.

13
Drake

With his boyish good looks and slick lyrics, Drake has steadily moved up the list on our radar this year. His future looks bright, so we know it won’t be long before someone (Rihanna?) claims this Canadian PYT as their own.

14
Anthony Mackie

He’s our ideal guy, a Juilliard-trained thespian with enough swag to pull off Tupac in “Notorious.” He may not be ready for marriage just yet, but it’s definitely on his radar.

“There are too many beautiful women out here to be single forever,” he tells ESSENCE.com.

15
Lloyd

This young cutie reminds us of every girl’s high school crush. And his southern charm and love for his mom have us excited to see him settle into manhood.

16
Reggie Love

Gotta love Mr. Love. The chocolate cutie has one of the toughest jobs in the world as President Obama’s body man… and our official White House crush.

17
Brian White

He’s officially All-American with that athletic body, Ivy League degree and welcoming smile. This Hollywood mover and shaker definitely has our full attention.

18
Jamie Foxx

Every woman loves a man who makes her smile, and with all his success, Jamie Foxx still keeps us laughing. And he sure can wear a suit.

19
Hill Harper

This brother hopes to get Black men and women talking in his new book, “The Conversation.” He’s also ready for his own leading lady, after witnessing the love of his good friend and our President, Barack Obama.

“I want that type of relationship in my life,” he says. “I’ll recognize her when it’s right.”

tate is married

We rounded up the hottest single Black men in the areas of music, politics, film and more. Ladies, these brothers are in a word…F-I-N-E! It was a tough job, but someone had to do it.

We’ve been smitten with this caramel cutie ever since seeing him as Darius Lovehall in “Love Jones.” And now it’s official, if actor Larenz Tate is starring, we’re definitely tuning in.
