Her Leading Man: Errol Jones, 30, Coordinator, Football Operations
The Big Day: September 7, 2013
How did you meet your man?
Errol and I met at Florida International University in Miami. Through a series of events, both on and off campus, he just happened to be there at the same time — he was stalking me!
Weirdest date you’ve ever been on?
We went on a double date with one of his cousins and his cousin’s girlfriend. They were on mute the entire night, and once the bill came, they just stared into the outer space as if they were invisible.
How long did you date before you got engaged?
We dated for 1,948 days — that’s five years and four months before he popped the question.
At what moment did you know he was ‘The One’ for you?
Within a couple of months of dating, I just knew.
Who said “I love you” first?
Errol definitely said he loved me first. Even if he denies it, I have a good memory.
What’s the sweetest thing he has ever done for you?
One year for my birthday I went up to his house as we were going out later that evening to dinner. I can recall it being a stressful day. As I arrived he kept stalling me and told me to wait in the car. I never questioned why, I guess I was too tired to play questions and answers. When he finally let me in, he had candles, roses and rose petals everywhere. It really caught me by surprise.
Best gift he ever got you?
Aside from all the many gifts I have received from Errol, the best gift is my engagement ring because it will always symbolizes a promise.
How did he pop the question?
The night he proposed, I had been begging him the entire week to take me to Morton’s Steakhouse. Finally he agreed, and we ended up going for dinner on Aug. 18, 2011. Afterward, we walked toward the car to leave and I was actually surprised to see him following me towards the passenger side of the car. (Maybe a week prior to this, I had teased him about how he never opens my door anymore). He started acting a little weird and started telling me how he feels about me, etc., and at this point, I am wondering what is taking him so long to open my door. Within a split second, he dropped to one knee and asked me to marry him.
Fill in the Blank: I think he chose to marry me because _________.
…I changed the game and raised the bar. I am unlike any other girl he has dated in the past.
Who would you cast to play your future hubby in a movie?
Martin Lawrence
Fill in the blank: If you’re spying on us on a Friday night, you’ll probably catch us ________.
…somewhere eating, laughing and talking smack to each other.
Second to his heart, what’s the other sexiest part of his body?
His light brown eyes.
