How did you meet your man?
Tray and I met through a mutual friend on Twitter. He saw my picture online and asked my friend about me. Our first conversation was actually a debate about sushi. He’s not a fan, so I told him that I had to “upgrade him” and introduce him to some new things.
Talia, were you looking for love at the time?
I was not. I was at the point where I was tired of people introducing me to mutual friends and was content with living the single girl’s life.
What was your first impression of Trayvon? I thought Tray was a good-looking guy. My guard was up because I had met some “duds” in the past, so I was pleasantly surprised that he was tall, handsome and had a great personality too.
Trayvon, did you know Talia was the ‘The One’ right away?
Not right away—although it was nothing that she did wrong. It was just me being a man. It took me no time to figure it out. We had only dated about six months when I started planning how I would propose.
How did he pop the question?
Tray proposed at the Atlanta Hawk’s game on the Jumbotron during a time-out. I was so shocked to see my face on the screen. I immediately started to cry when he dropped down on one knee and pulled out the most beautiful ring I had ever seen.
What was really going through your mind as he proposed?
How did he pull this off? Does my makeup look alright? I had just finished eating nachos!
Trayvon, were you nervous about proposing?
Not really. I was more nervous that she would find out before I was able to pull it off.
