How did you meet your man?
We met in the 11th grade when a mutual friend introduced us.
Were you looking for love at the time?
No, not at all.
What was your first impression of him?
I thought he was a band geek.
Did you play hard to get?
Of course!
Was it love at first sight?
Not quite! But, as our relationship and friendship grew it progressed.
How did he pop the question?
Jamarr had me plan an anniversary dinner for both our parents because their anniversaries are in the same week. He came up with the idea of having dinner for them together. Since, their anniversaries are a few days before Christmas we decided to do it on December 23rd. I thought it was an awesome idea for our families to get together. We talked to my Mom and Dad and they suggested that we have the dinner at the house and we the “children” prepare the dinner. It was a nice gourmet four-course meal, and after we served dessert and were finishing up the dinner, that’s when Jamarr proposed with all of our family around.
Jamarr, were you nervous about proposing?
Yes, I was, even though I had a feeling I knew what the answer would be.
What was really going through your mind as he proposed?
Is this really happening? It was so surreal!
Tell us about the ring!
It has a canary yellow radiant cut diamond center stone with a halo setting. We kind of picked it out together. I had some choices, but I wasn’t sure which one he would decide to go with.
My One True Love
Syreeta and Jamarr are a perfect match and they’ve known it since they first met back in the eleventh grade. They make each other so very happy—so happy in fact that Jamarr just knew Syreeta would be his wife one day. One evening while they celebrated both of their parents’ anniversary joy, Jamarr proposed to Syreeta before all of their closest friends and family.
Just Engaged: Syreeta and Jamarr
Lovebirds Syreeta and Jamarr have been together since the eleventh grade. He popped the question at their parents’ joint anniversary party, now this summer they’ll become husband and wife. Let’s celebrate!
