How did you meet your man?
Thaddeus and I have been together seven years. We are high school sweethearts. We both went to a rival football game. He is a good friend of my cousin’s and I went over to speak to him. Later that night, my cousin called me and asked if I noticed his friend because he wanted my phone number. I told my cousin to give it to him even though I had no idea what he looked like.

Where did you go on your first date?
Our first real date was for my 17th birthday. We were going to the movies and I had to drive. That was also my first time meeting his mom. Before he could leave and go with me, I had to go in his house and meet her. We finally left and went to the movies. I can’t remember exactly what movie we went to see.

When did you know it was true love?
I knew he was ‘The One’ one night a few years ago. We were broken up and he popped up at my mom’s house and told me how he felt without me being in his life. He eventually broke me down! (Smiles.)

What’s the biggest obstacle you’ve overcome together?
With Thad’s profession, it was hard to adjust to all of the new elements of the NBA lifestyle. We had to break up in order to see that we were actually meant to be together. It made our bond stronger because after the break, we actually opened up and talked more. Plus, we had help from the pastor that is actually doing our ceremony.

How did he pop the question?
We got engaged on our seventh year anniversary, October, 31st 2011, at home. He had the whole day planned for me. He had my BFF meet me at the spa to get pampered. Next, we had a couple’s massage. Later that night, we were about to leave home to go out to eat and he called me back in the house. When I walked in, he was on bended knee with my ring in his hand.
