How did you meet your man?
We met at an event that I was hosting at the Red Room in Dallas, TX.
What was your first impression of him?
I thought he was smart, nice looking and interesting.
What was his first impression of you?
He thought I was interesting, unique, attractive and different from other girls he knew.
Did you play hard to get?
It took one and a half years for him to ask me out on a date. I refused to ask him out first.
At what moment did you know he was “The One” for you?
When he drove eight hours from Dallas Texas to my hometown of Kansas City, Missouri without me asking him to when he found out my mom made a turn for the worst with her cancer. He was by my side and I knew if he could be there for me during that difficult time, then I knew he was a keeper.
Describe your most romantic date ever?
It was on Valentine ’s Day 2013 and the entire day was a surprise. He came by my house before I was able to get home and cooked me a wonderful steak dinner. He had candles and soft music in the background. I was greeted at the door and he was dressed in my favorite suit and he placed red rose petals on the floor in our initials ( T.O) surrounded in a heart. It was such an amazing day because after a long hard day at work it was a wonderful and delightful surprise.
How did he pop the question?
We went out for dinner downtown around Christmastime to look at the lights. When we left the restaurant, we walked around downtown enjoying the scenery. He kept asking me if we could take a picture in front of one of the Christmas trees, but I kept refusing because I wanted to find a bigger tree. Eventually we started walking toward the parking deck to leave when he said, “Sometimes I don’t like being your boyfriend.” This led to an argument until he said, “I don’t like being your boyfriend because I’d rather be your husband.” He then got on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I started breathing heavily and couldn’t talk so I just nodded yes.
Best gift he ever got you?
Quality time. Even with his crazy schedule, he always makes me his priority and that’s the best gift to me.
Tell us about your engagement ring!
It’s a beautiful princess-cut, vintage, halo-style diamond ring. He picked it by himself!
Who would you cast to play your future hubby in a movie?
Idris Elba.

Handsome, charismatic and humble.

His arms.
