How did you meet your man?
I met my man at a mutual friend’s house party in Stone Mountain, Georgia.
What was your first impression of him?
He was super competitive.
Describe your most romantic date ever?
About a year into dating Christopher surprised me on a romantic trip to Glenwood Springs, in Glenwood, CO. This place has the world’s largest Natural Springs pool and it was nice to get away and relax with him.
What do you two do together for fun?
We are huge fans of the Man v. Food show on the Travel Channel, so whenever he is on the road and I visit him, we check to see if Adam Richman (the host of the show) has done a challenge in that city and we go to the same restaurant and attempt some of the challenges! Chris came close to eating an eight-pound burrito once but we have never actually completed a challenge.
Weirdest date you’ve ever been on?
The weirdest date we ever went on was when Chris decided to take me White Water Rafting in the mountains. I say it;s the weirdest because I do not enjoy swimming as much as he does, and when the instructor asked if anyone wanted to jump in the river and off the raft, he convinced me to jump in. Prior to me jumping in, a couple before us did some crazy flips off the raft, so I decided I should try something cool as well. Unfortunately, I slipped before I could jump in and only one half of my body went in the river while the other half was trying to hold on for dear life when I lost my grip and fell in. I panicked even though I had on a life vest until another swimmer pulled me back into the raft. Chris calmed me down but still manage to catch the entire incident on tape.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that ever happened on a date?
Chris knew I was a huge Lil’ Wayne fan, so he surprised me with suite tickets to his concert on New Year’s Eve. I partied hard until midnight which led to me passing out on the sofa of the suite. When I woke up the next morning I realized my shoes were scuffed and the night before was a blur. I asked him what happened and he told me I passed out on the couch and he had to get a wheelchair to roll me out to the car. Totally embarrased!
Sweetest thing he has ever done for you?
The sweetest thing he has ever done for me was wait on me hand and feet after I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted, and because he saw how much pain I was still in, he flew my mom out to take care of me when he had to travel away for a road game.
Best gift he ever got you?
With Chris traveling a lot for work, I started to feel really lonely. One day Chris suggested we get a puppy to fill that void when he’s not in town. We extended our little family with a 1 pound Yorkie we named Pepper! Although he’s 6 pounds bigger now, he has become the best gift I could ever ask for.
How did he pop the question?
Chris and I took our offseason vacation in the Bahamas. We stayed at the exquisite Cove Tower of the Atlantis Resort. As soon as we checked in, we rushed to our room in hopes of catching the sunset. As we stood on the balcony hand-in-hand, Chris asked if I could go to the bathroom to retrieve his phone so he could capture the moment. On my way back to the balcony, I was stopped in my tracks as I witnessed Christopher down on one knee with a ring box in his hand. I immediately burst into tears as Chris asked me the four words every girl wants to hear in her life!
Were you nervous about proposing?
Yes, I was really nervous. I was so overwhelmed with emotions and did not expect to be.
What are you most looking forward to about marriage Brittany?
I am looking forward to starting a family, raising our children and growing old with one another.
