Although many associate this stunning resort city with its rowdy spring break crowd, Los Cabos lends itself to a great deal of relaxation. Treat yourself to a spa treatment (award-winning spas are in abundance) or simply relax poolside. The Vitamin C treatment at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica took the edge off of an early morning flight and the mojitos by the pool were always a welcomed treat.

Cabo San Lucas is located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, lending itself to the perfect combination of color where the desert meets the water. Not only can you see the famous arch, the open waters and uninterrupted skyline provide a flawless backdrop for photo lovers. Pool views are beautiful, but there’s something special, even romantic, about opening your balcony doors to the sight of picturesque palm trees, sun-kissed sand and the sound of waves crashing on the ocean. At oceanfront properties like Marquis Los Cabos, faint whispers of waves can be heard all night. Wake up early (at least once) to enjoy the beautiful hues that color the sky during sunrise.

Art lovers will have a field day (literally) in the Gallery District of San Jose del Cabo. Set aside an afternoon of exploration to see the amazing artistry the city has to offer, or if visiting between November and June, spend a Thursday evening enjoying The Art Walk. From 5pm – 9pm visitors can pop in and out of the various exhibits and meet many of the gallery owners. If you’re a fan of African art, you will fall in love with Muvezi Fine African Art. For a great collection of Mexican artists, stop by the Patricia Mendoza Art Gallery. The stunning pieces are almost as beautiful as Patricia herself.

Owner Enrique Silva welcomes you into the familia when you enter the open-air restaurant and Chef Gabriel Castillo walks you through a “surprise” 4-course cooking excursion. Although off the beaten path, the farm-to-table experience is worth the slight detour.

Yes there’s a Starbuck’s and even a Domino’s, but much of this pleasant oasis is comprised of quaint shops, charming eateries, and timeless architecture. Get lost down the right back alley and you’ll see exactly what I mean.
