As Americans begin their holiday travels, a U.S. travel alert has been put into place. What makes your travels feel a bit more secure?
As families gear up to hit the road for the holidays, one of the main concerns is safety.
With recent terrorist attacks and threats, many have more than just the standard safety precautions in mind.
According to ABC, a U.S. travel alert has been put into effect until February 24. Current information suggests that terrorist groups including ISIS, al-Qaida and Boko Haram are continuing to plan attacks in multiple regions.
“U.S. citizens should exercise vigilance when in public places or using transportation,” said the travel alert. “Be aware of immediate surroundings and avoid large crowds or crowded places. Exercise particular caution during the holiday season and at holiday festivals or events.”
Aside from these suggestions, authorities have also advised citizens to closely monitor information sources and alter plans according to the updates and to make sure that family members know how to reach you in an emergency.
With travel alerts, precautions and advisories in place and heightened senses regarding security, what makes you feel safe while traveling?
