It looks like Anansa Sims and Matt Barnes are not only back together, but are starting 2026 as husband and wife. The couple hasn’t officially announced it, but a social media user shared a few snaps in their InstaStories from what appeared to be the couple’s intimate wedding.
“Congrats to Mr & Mrs Barnes,” the words written on one of the posts read.
From what we could see, Sims was dressed in a traditional white wedding gown, while the former NBA player wore a classic tuxedo. The venue seemed light, but in one of the shared images, the couple is seen embracing a very special guest, their son Ashton.
This news of them reuniting and marrying may be surprising, considering the couple broke off their engagement after Sims accused Barnes of being unfaithful with eight different women (in a single month) in February 2025. He later expressed his regret and admitted to his role in the demise of their relationship via his podcast, All the Smoke. He also touched on struggling with his emotions.
“I literally lost my family by being exactly what you talked about. Like, I was the strong provider, but I wasn’t there emotionally. I wasn’t empathetic. I wasn’t willing to share those emotions. That was stuff that my ex would tell me: “I don’t… you’re a wall,” Barnes said at the time.
Sometimes, time and separation heal. The couple subtly relaunched their relationship around Christmas, posting a series of family photos and videos in matching pajamas on Instagram.
“Merry Christmas from our family to your family ❤️🎄,” Sims wrote. “Dear God, thank you for my beautiful family. I lift my family up to You. I put my family in Your loving hands. Please keep them safe and close to Your heart. My family is not perfect, but by Your Grace and Mercy we love each other still. Thank You for saving us, healing us and leading us! May You be the controller of our family and always in the center of our love ❤️🙏🏽❤️

Another giveaway that the newly married couple rekindled their love is on Barnes’ Instagram page, where he recently wished his longtime partner a happy birthday.
“H•A•P•P•Y Birthday Beautiful ❤️” the caption read under an image of Sims.
The couple has always had a hot-and-cold relationship, dating on and off for five years. Sims and Barnes got engaged in December 2022. They have a blended family of eight that includes two children they birthed together — Ashton and Austin. Barnes has twin boys, Carter and Isaiah, from his relationship with former fianceé Gloria Govan, and Sims has three children from her first marriage: Ava, David and Dean.
