Gregg Leakes has bravely let the world into his health struggles with colon cancer and how it’s affected his family. Though he initially decided against chemotherapy because of its severe side effects, the reality star did some soul searching and, at the advice of his wife Nene Leakes, had a change of heart.

The Real Housewives Of Atlanta couple has been through hell following Gregg’s diagnosis, but can breath a sigh of relief now that Gregg has completed chemotherapy. Nene shared a video of Gregg “ringing the bell” to signify the end of his chemo journey. His megawatt smile says it all

“This all started May 5th 2018,” Nene writes celebrating this major milestone. “It’s been a long emotional ride for our entire family! Listen up American…..TODAY my husband @greggleakes has completed 6 months of chemotherapy! Awesome job hunni!”

“I’m so happy for you and the strength you showed during this difficult time in your life!”, she continues in the caption. “PS: Thank you to all of our family, friends, fans, doctors and nurses who lifted us up in constant prayer, sent recipes, doctors info, gave advice and gifts! We love you ❤️ PSS: what a relief! We finally get to share with the world what we’ve been going thru.”

During Nene’s last appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Gregg called in to give an update about his progress. “I’m doing great!” he told Andy Cohen over the phone. “I feel great. I feel wonderful. I’m blessed every day. You know, I never had cancer before so every day is like a new experience to me.”

Gregg has also apologized to his wife for treating her unkindly while going through this health battle.
