I air dry my hair 99% of the time and I love it! Over the years, I’ve learned how important it is to give your hair a break from heat appliances like blow dryers and flat irons. As you know, constant heat can cause unnecessary dryness, thinning, breakage and shedding. I know we love the sleek bone-straight look, but too much using heat will rob the hair of moisture and natural oils, making your hair appear dull and lifeless.
Since I’ve been letting my hair dry on its own, my relaxed hair feels thicker, stronger and softer. Choosing to air dry on a consistent basis, has allowed my hair to maintain its healthiness because it’s not being manipulated. When I do use a blow dryer, I use the cool air setting while my hair is slightly damp. The cool air closes my hair cuticles and locks in moisture. My hair dries much smoother with a natural sheen.
Air drying my hair is one of the healthiest choices I’ve made while on my hair journey. My hair is able to dry in its natural state and maintain its fullness!
