The Internet Wants To Know Who Is Letting Rachel Dolezal Do Their Hair

The Internet Wants To Know Who Is Going To Rachel Dolezal To Get Their Hair Done

After famously being outed for lying about her racial identity in 2015 and coming under scrutiny for her upcoming Netflix documentary in April, former NAACP president Rachel Dolezal is still trying to convince the world of her Blackness.

This time, however, she’s doing it straight from her kitchen in her new makeshift hair salon. Yes, you read that correctly. The 40-year-old “transracial” figure is causing more controversy on social media with the news that she’s doing hair. And there’s a plot twist — Black women have actually been the first to line up in her kitchen to get their braids done and edges laid.

When you pull that braid hair to a perfect 22" taper 🔻#ibraidhair #naturallyshesbeautiful #boxbraidstyles

According to her Instagram feed, the beautician offers a wide range of styles for women of color, including faux dreads, weaves, cornrows, braids and color treatments. This isn’t the first time she’s delved in natural hair and Afrocentric-inspired styles. Dolezal also wrote and illustrated an interactive children’s book titled Ebony Tresses in November 2017.

In the standalone photo featuring her salon chair, Dolezal captioned it: “Where the magic happens #timetowork #hairchair #morebraidingtoday”

She even goes on to showcase her styling skills by posting photos of her satisfied clients rocking faux locs, wild colors and box braids.

Just finished these blue locs... ignore the baby in the highchair 😂 He is a good sport when I'm working. #ibraidhair #idofauxlocs #protectivestyles #makinghairdreamscometrue @local_legendz_barbershop

We can’t lie, though. As problematic as Dolezal is, her work isn’t half bad. Would you let her give you a new ‘do?
