My hair is..natural (locs).
I started my hair journey…in 2010 shortly after moving back to New York after completing my masters program in New Hampshire.
My current hair regimen includes…
1. My hair dresser shampoos my hair with a Dr. Bronner’s Organic Castile liquid soap, it lathers quickly without buildup. We follow up with a hot oil treatment alternating between coconut oil, castor oil and olive oil.
2. She retwists with Soy Organics Twist & lock gel because it gives me hold without flaking, doesn’t cause build up, and it smells amazing. At night I sleep with a Dreadsock and I refresh my hair as needed with Wild Growth Hair Oil.
My favorite hair products include… * Jamaican black castor oil-great for thicken up my hair edges
*Soy Organics Twist & lock gel- for retwisting
*Wild Growth Hair Oil -for adding moisture
*Jane Carter Moisture Nourishing Shampoo
*Cloth covered wired self tie closure headwrap from Forever 21
The secret to having healthy hair is…less is best. Too much teasing thins outs your locs and too much products can cause issues with build up. Keep it simple as long as your cleansed and moisturized you are good to go!
My biggest hair challenge is…the longer it gets the more time it take to dry.
I love my hair because…it’s finally healthy! Its growing fast and it’s low maintenance.
