Ridding your kinks and curls of knots just got a whole lot easier.
Wash-and-go girls really shouldn’t complain about hair maintenance. But here I go anyway. Detangling my 3C curls is a pain. Because my hair is so fine, it knots up easily—so much so that three days post wash, the hair at the nape of my neck is a matted bird’s nest. The Tangle Teezer, $10, ulta.com, is the only thing standing between me and unintended locs. I use the nifty brush as part of my in-shower detangling routine: Post-shampoo, I load my hair up with my go-to conditioner (at the moment that’s Klorane Mask with Desert Date) then gently rake through it with the Teezer. The UK-designed hair tool has flexible-yet-strong bristles that de-knot strands without as much tugging as a plain old stiff brush. But here’s the caveat: Tangle Teezer is not a miracle worker. When I’m finished with a preliminary Tangle Teezer brushing, I have to go back through with a wide-tooth comb to remove the most stubborn knots. But still, using it has reduced my in-shower detangle time by about 10 minutes. Significant savings since I have to be out of the door by 7:30 in the morning. All said, I give the Tangle Teezer major thumbs up for its ability to lighten my deknotting workload.
Have you used a Tangle Teezer? If so, what do you think? If not, would you be open to trying one? Let me know in the comments below.
