If you’re going to change your hair up this summer, beauty guru Makeup Shayla has you covered if you’re undecided on what look to rock. Whether you choose to visit the salon, treat yourself to a celeb-inspired wig, or play kitchen beautician, the first step is to decide on your summer slay. Going for bombshell blonde? Fiery red? Bold black? Mermaid tresses?
The beauty influencer teamed up with Dark and Lovely on a summer style lookbook pairing her fave glam look with three different hair dyes — Dark and Lovely’s Fade Resist Jet Black ($6.49), Vivacious Red ($4.97), and Honey Blonde ($5.22). In the video, she not only models different hair colors from the brand, but she offers tips on coordinating hair color with summer fashion and beauty. As expected, she slayed every shade.
Let’s get right into it, shall we?
First up, Jet Black — Shayla’s fave shade. She naturally has dark hair but likes to dye it jet black to make it more striking against her complexion.
For a NY-inspired look, Shayla paired her edgy lob with a red lip and an LBD.
Next, Shayla took Dark and Lovely’s Vivacious Red for a spin. Surprisingly, it works well with her signature pink lip color. “This color’s for those who wanna make a dramatic statement when you walk in a room,” she says.
To make sure that her red shade stands out, Shayla decided to pair it with a neutral midi dress.
Our fave shade from the video has to be the Honey Blonde. “I love blonde,” Shayla says. “It gives me a golden, summer bronze glow.” We couldn’t agree more, this is GORGEOUS.
Shayla gave this shade the California girl treatment with a pair of jeans and a knotted denim shirt.
