Actress Grace Gealey, better known as Boo Boo Kitty on FOX’s hit show Empire, is enjoying time off from the show and basking in the sun while sporting a new ‘do. The beautiful newlywed was hanging out with her hubby and Empire co-star Trai Byers and shared some cozy pics for her fans on the ‘Gram. The box braids is a new look for the Island beauty as she’s known for her short and sexy pixie cut and goes well with a carefree summer fun theme.

Box braids are a great protective style that just screams summer and the longer the better. Grace is just one of many Hollywood divas rocking braids like Tichina Arnold or Meagan Good and while the varieties of braided styles are almost endless, each styles looks stunning on everyone.
For Grace, the braids make her look younger than her 31 years and she really could even pass for a college student hanging out on campus. The best part of box braids is the hair is much cheaper to buy as human hair is not necessary and the only negative with them is installation time. Depending on size and length you can be looking at 4 to 8 hours but many have two people on one head to help with that. Outside of that they are fun and easy to care for as long as one remembers to moisturize and keep clean the scalp and hair.
