Black Love Took Center Stage During The 65th Grammy Awards

From the Carters to Lizzo and Myke Wright making their red carpet debut, superstar couples didn’t disappoint.
Black Love Took Center Stage During The 65th Grammy Awards
By Dominique Fluker · Updated February 8, 2023

While the 65th Annual Grammy Awards had many marquee moments, such as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of hip-hop music, Viola Davis establishing her EGOT status, and Beyoncé officially becoming the most-awarded Grammy artist in the honor’s history, the show also hosted some of the hottest Black couples in the entertainment industry.

The event served as the perfect date night for the Carters, as the couple ultimately celebrated Beyoncé’s monumental wins. Lizzo and Myke Wright had a lot to toast to as well, as the Special artist won Record of the Year for “About Damn Time” and had an accompanied performance of “Special,” showing us all why self-love is still essential.

During her acceptance speech for the Record of the Year award, she began by dedicating the award to Prince, who died in 2016, and gave her family and her boyfriend, Myke Wright, an enthusiastic shoutout.

“My man, who holds me down!” the singer shouted when bringing him up in the speech.

The spotlight is relatively new for the couple, as the four-time Grammy winner shared a series of photos on Saturday, Feb. 4, showing the pair lovingly embracing each other at Clive Davis’s Pre-Grammy gala. She captioned the post, “Hard launch.” Her announcement sent many of her supportive fans into a tailspin of excitement.

Before her hard launch Instagram post, Lizzo revealed that she and Wright were still in the “soft launch” stage of their relationship, saying that a “traditional” or monogamous relationship “scares” her.

Another standout couple who attended the show was Cardi B and Offset. While both looked amazing on the red carpet, fans noted their glorious PDA the night before at the Pre-Grammy gala. The married couple of four years and parents to their 4-year-old daughter, Kulture, and 1-year-old son, Wave, unabashedly made out on the red carpet, tongues included.

All in all, Black love showed up and out during Grammys weekend, and we loved to see it. View our list of the hottest couples and (families) who attended the award show and happily put their love on display.
