Tymesha and H’s love story began when they were engineering majors on the campus of Prairie View A&M University. From classmates to best friends to bride and groom their love story continues to reach new heights.

A Love For All Time

Tymesha and H have a love story that has proven the test of time. “As career driven individuals our chosen career paths have taken us down many paths,” says the bride. “At one point, I traveled internationally for a management consulting firm for roughly three years. This would have drained most relationships however it did the opposite for ours.”

A Lovely Pick

“When the consultant placed the dress in front of me and tied the sash around my waist, we all thought, that’s it!” says the bride. “It was stunning! The dress had a sweetheart top, fitted bodice and flared skirt. It was lovely!”

Little Lady

“We had to have our daughter, Sophie Jaye Marion, as the flower girl,” the bride says. “She was simply adorable and she stole the show. (I was happy to share it with her!).”

A Soul Mate For Life

“My heart was healed after the loss of my mother by the gentle spirit of ‘Etta Bell’ (TyMesha),” says the groom. “Our initial introduction a decade ago resembled common college love stories of boy meets girl, but turned out to be nothing short of a fairy tale bestseller. I knew I’d found someone special when I recited poetry to her until the crack of dawn. She accepted me for who I was and grew with me to be who I am today and God willing, will grow with me to the man I’ll become. I am humbled to call her my future wife but more so my soulmate.”

Flower Fierceness

TyMesha carried a lovely bouquet of fresh hydrangea blooms (her favorite!), mni Ivory roses and purple orchids.

Short and Sassy

“I am totally into the short hair styles however I wanted something a bit bigger but still me,” TyMesha. “One of my best friends, Schawanna, is the friend that directs hair and skin. She is the professional in this space.  She came up with the idea. We mapped out the style, what and when we wanted to have everything done and it worked. We decided on a tightly curled tapered cut. I rocked it!”

The Only One For Me

“I fell in love with H’s personality,” TyMesha admits. “H is caring, humorous and intelligent.  He loves in a way that allows me to feel a strong sense of security, like I’m absolutely the only person in this world that matters.”

One Handsome Bunch

“The groom specifically wanted the classic black and white tux for him and all of his groomsmen,” says the bride. “No color. No glam. They were handsome!”

Flawless

“Etta has a gentle spirit that’s nurturing and allows me to be the man that I am while growing into the man that God has destined for me to become,” the groom reveals. “I am confident in her. She is patient, offers faithful instruction and has a heart that wants to save the world.

I Always Knew

“My mind was made long before I actually proposed,” says H. “God spoke to my spirit and I knew she was the one.”

Complementary Colors

“The bridesmaids’ dresses were designed by Watters, an extraordinary designer,” says the bride. “I love earth tones, so I knew I wanted something classic. We decided on a taffeta, A-line gown for the ladies that complemented each of their figures."

Head Over Heels

Did the bride think she’d ever find true love the way she did? “Not at all,” she insists. “I figured we would be good friends, however, not that I’d end up head over hills for this man, but I am and I do love him.”

Big Brother To The Rescue

To walk down the aisle, TyMesha went with a classic musical selection: “Cannon in D” by J. Pachelbel. “My father turned ill a couple weeks before the wedding and was unable to attend,” she says. “My big brother stepped in without hesitation and I felt honored by his presence. He was proud to say ‘I do’ when the pastor asked who gives this woman away. During the reception, we danced the night away. We had an awesome time!”

The Big Moment

Here comes the bride! “Although I knew this was the day and I was marrying the woman I had longed for, it was still surreal,” says H.

Brothery Love

The bride’s brother-in-law officiated the ceremony. “He has watched our relationship evolve into what it is today,” she shares. “It was very special to us to have him officiate the ceremony.”

I've Loved You Forever

“I wanted to date her long before I reached out, and once we started dating, I loved her long before I told her,” H admits.

The Perfect Wife

“I knew she possessed all of the qualities I would want in a wife, so I treaded lightly to ensure I made no mistakes,” says H.

Switch It Up

“Hotel Zaza suited us because of the chic yet sophisticated nature of the venue and it was convenient to have the ceremony and reception in one place so our out of town guests would not have to travel between venues,” TyMesha explains.

Sweet Perfection

“The wedding cake was a brushed gold wedding cake in a unique three tier oval design – designed by Susie’s Cakes of Houston, Texas,” shares the bride. “The cake sat on a base of floral of ivory hydrangea, ivory roses and purple orchids draping the cake. We selected an almond wedding cake, lemon filling, with a traditional buttercream icing.  The lemon filling complemented the almond flavor nicely.  All of our guests raved about the cake!”

Married At Last

“We chose to dance to ‘At Last’ by Etta James,” says the bride. “My middle name is Etta and the song spoke to our relationship in so many different ways. H actually selected the song and I loved it!”
