There’s nothing quite like getting positive feedback from someone you look up to early on in your career and one of music’s newest rising stars received the ultimate stamp of approval from none other than the iconic Stevie Wonder. ESSENCE Festival 2017 single-night tickets and ticket packages are on sale now! For more info and the latest news, visit our Festival page here. Self-proclaimed Hip Hop chaplain Sir The Baptist is currently making his rounds to promote the early May release of his phenomenal debut album, Saint or Sinner, and he recently paid a visit to KJLH Radio in Inglewood, CA. During his visit, the 2017 ESSENCE Festival performer was interview by Stevie himself, who had much praise for the young Chicago musician after hearing the album.   Naturally, Sir was blown away by the legendary entertainer’s reaction to hearing the project and shared the unforgettable moment on Instagram, complete with a clip from the interview. “I heard Stevie wanted to talk. I didn’t believe it,” he wrote in the caption for the post. “But when I walked in the door, he knew 3 songs. Even got teary eyed on Heaven. I don’t know what God is doing to my life. I don’t know why he’s allowing me to carry this call. I’m here to change something.”   Be sure to grab your tickets to see Sir The Baptist light up the stage, alongside more of the biggest names in music, at the 2017 ESSENCE Festival in New Orleans this July.
