“My style is simple, clean, bold,” Laura Mvula tells us, and also shows us with this clean white on white futuristic style at the 2013 Glastonbury Festival. “I like muted colors. I try not to over think it, when I overthink it, it tends to be a disaster. And when I don’t think so hard it tends to work.”
The singer stuns at the 2013 Brit Awards in her signature white style, wearing a coat dress by Heohwan Simulation and Jimmy Choo sling back pee-toes.
On her wishlist: “I want a fur coat, I don’t know by who yet but I’m on the look out because everywhere I go I’m really cold,” says the singer who was swathed in a funky style at the 2013 Isle of Wight Festival.
“I have to be warm and I have to be comfortable,” says the singer, who achieved both fabulously at the Liverpool Empire Theatre in London. “I’m the kind of person that I look very awkward if I’m uncomfortable so it’s very obvious.”
“I also like jewelry. I like earrings that are the size of my face usually, the bigger the better,” says Mvula who sported larger than life accessories at the Prince’s Trust Celebrate Success Awards.
“I’m a High Street girl. That’s what I miss the most since my schedule packed up. I miss taking my Friday afternoon walks down to High Street. Can’t live without Topshop, it’s like where I live.”
“My knowledge (of fashion) is small. My stylist laughs at me because most names she throws at me, I have no idea who she’s talking about,” says the chic singer, shown here in an incredibly sharp coat and geometric stacked pumps.
Despite her novice knowledge of designers, the singer still manages to pull together effortlessly cool looks. This white moto jacket and wide leg trousers worn to the Julien Macdonald show during London Fashion Week proves our point.
My last purchase was: “A Paul Smith handbag. I’m a bit of a handbag freak,” says the singer, who showed up to the pre-dinner BRIT awards in a lust-worthy fringed style.
“I can’t live without: lashes, strong eye liner. I won’t come out the house without it. It sort of defines me. I think since I have my hair short, I take liberties with everything else. The one that I pick up is Maybelline, I don’t know what my make-up artist uses.”
