To celebrate International Day Of The Girl, ESSENCE has re-launched its GEN-Z platform “Girls United.” Spearheaded by young creatives, Girls United is the “premier destination for young black women who are interested in fostering a digital community of leaders.” Its mission lies within teaching the next generation of innovators about beauty, wellness, literacy, entrepreneurship, relationships, and creativity.
To correspond with its fresh new re-design, GU also launched merch with the phrase, “Black Girls Shaking It Up” plastered across the front. “Together we are challenging the status quo of what it means to be a black woman by providing a safe space to come into your own and be understood,” said the Girls United Team. With an already sold-out Ulta collaboration, Girls United has now included a full multimedia platform that includes editorial, video, and podcasts.
