After weeks of delays, Wendy Williams has announced that she will not be returning to her popular daytime show anytime soon due to complications stemming from her Graves’ disease.
The family of the Wendy Williams Show host announced that she has been hospitalized for the immune system disorder that she suffers from.

“As Wendy Williams Hunter previously shared, she fractured her shoulder and has been on the mend. Over the past few days, Wendy has experienced complications regarding her Graves’ Disease that will require treatment,” a statement read. “Wendy will be under the strict supervision of her physicians, and as part of her care, there will be significant time spent in the hospital.”
It continued: “Despite her strong desire to return, she is taking a necessary, extended break from her show to focus on her personal and physical well-being.”

The 54-year-old talk show host injured her upper-arm in late December. She returned to set the next day and finished out the week, but after receiving criticism for behaving strangely on-air she admitted in a caption on Instagram that she was under the effects of medication she had taken because of “a hairline fracture on my upper arm, which hurts like hell.”

It is not clear when Wendy will return to the purple chair. Distributor and producer Debmar-Mercury said the show will air repeat episodes the week of Jan. 21 and will produce original episodes with a variety of hosts starting the week of Jan. 28.
