Accomplished actor Taye Diggs will have a recurring role in the upcoming season of Empire as Angelo Dubois, a Harvard Law graduate with a wealthy background who’s more interested in community and local politics, which earns him comparisons to Barack Obama. It’ll be interesting to see the dynamic between Diggs’ character and the Lyon family.
News of Diggs’ casting comes shortly after it was announced that French Montana will make a guest appearance in the season three premiere. Other guests include rapper/producer Birdman and singer Sierra McClain.
Season three of Empire premieres Sept. 21.
