Not only is Power back, but STARZ just announced the show’s renewal for two more seasons!

Two months ago, STARZ’s CEO Chris Albrecht announced Power would be moving from Saturday to Sunday nights. He did this in anticipation of the 50 Cent-produced show bringing in record breaking numbers during its new season, and to give HBO and Showtime a little Sunday-night competition.

So far, it looks like Albrecht made a smart decision. The show’s season 3 premiere raked in 2.26 million viewers, which makes the network hit the “most-watched episode of any Starz original ever,” according to DEADLINE. And now fans will be able to enjoy television’s complicated guilty pleasure for at least two more years.

STARZ made the announcement yesterday (Jul. 19), and the cast was quick to thank the fans for their support.

“I knew ‘Power’ was going to be something special from the first concept meeting I had with Mark Canton,” said 50 Cent. “The fans’ support for the show has been the driving force of its success and I can’t wait to bring them two more seasons full of action and suspense.”

50 Cent, Rotini and Lela Loren (Angela) helped to push the announcement with STARZ press photos accompanied by their personal shock-and-awe captions.

The show’s official Instagram page celebrated the news with a classic Ghost and Tommy gif, which is hopefully telling of the characters’ rekindled friendship to come.
