Filming on the hit Starz drama, Power, has come to a halt after the accidental death of a production assistant. According to Variety, Pedro Jimenez was setting up cones on a Brooklyn street at around 4:30 a.m. on Monday when he was struck by a passing motorist. The driver remained at the scene of the incident, but sadly Jimenez, who was 63, passed away at nearby Brooklyn Hospital.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family,” a Starz spokesperson said in a statement after the fatal accident. “Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.” Before the tragic accident, Power was filming its sixth season, which is slated to hit Starz in 2019. Though it’s currently unclear how long the production shut down will last, the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad is investigating the incident.
