Tiffany Haddish may not have big plans for Thanksgiving, but she does have advice for dealing with awkward family moments at the dinner table. The Nobody’s Fool star said the best way to deal with annoying conversations is to”go to the backyard.”
“In an awkward family conversation, I’ll eat the crackerjack, I’ll leave the room,” Haddish told ESSENCE. “Sometimes that’s the best way to shut everything down. Go to the bathroom, go upstairs, go to the backyard, just walk away because a lot of the time confrontation [happens] because they had someone watch[ing].” She added, “If there’s no audience, they can’t get off. They’ll be standing there alone.” Hopefully, Haddish can have a relaxing Thanksgiving as 2018 has proven to be a busy year for the actress.

She recently teamed up with Lawry’s for a limited edition seasoning salt, which she says she’ll “definitely be adding my greens,” after appearing various comedies, including Night School, The Oath, Uncle Drew, and The Last O.G. But if Haddish does decide to cook up something for the holiday, we sure it’ll be something delicious—her cooking already has two thumbs up from one celeb. “You know who Billy Porter is? From Kinky Boots? He came over and was eating pot roast out of the pot,” she bragged. “He was eating it right out of the pot.” Billy, we don’t blame you!
