It’s always a good time to celebrate the beauty of sisterhood and that’s exactly what happened at the most recent Celebration of Sisterhood Tea Party.

Founded by respected business executive, Sonia Jackson Myles, The Sister Accord foundation aims to educate and empower young women, while also helping them to realize the power and importance of true sisterhood. This year saw the annual Celebration of Sisterhood Tea Party celebrate 19 years through programming that included an intimate conversation with ESSENCE Magazine Editor-At-Large and 2019 Sister Accord honoree, Mikki Taylor.

“It was an honor to introduce my amazing sister, mentor and friend, Mikki Taylor, to Cincinnati,” Jackson Myles said in a statement. “Our intimate conversation was an hour long and in that time, lives were transformed! No one is ever the same after a Sister Accord Experience! During Sister Accord Day this year, we honored 7 amazing business and entertainment leaders.”

Other honorees for this year’s dynamic event, held in Cincinnati, OH, included Grammy-nominated Singer/Songwriter, Marsha Ambrosius; Founder & CEO, Ladies of Leadership, Kimberly Huckleby; Founder & CEO, Sweet Petit Desserts, Taren Kinebrew Founder, Captivate Marketing Group, Yvonne McNair; Celebrity Trainer & Founder Body By Shev, Shevanne Robinson; Award Winning Singer, Avery*Sunshine; Grammy Award-winning Singer/Songwriter, Elle Varner; and Grammy-nominated Singer/Songwriter, Brian Courtney Wilson.

“Elle is such a beautiful spirit,” Jackson Myles said of Varner. “She stayed and engaged with the young ladies and was so full of love. We smiled when we saw Elle’s Tweet after her experience. She stated, ‘I am still shooketh from the magnitude of this event. The wisdom, the generosity, the love.  Thank you so much Sonia. It was a blessing to be honored and be a part of this!'”

A culminating event, appropriately titled, ‘The Sister Accord Day Celebration Continues’ was held on September 12 and featured performances from honorees Marsha Ambrosius and Brian Courtney Wilson.
