ESSENCE Now’s “Slayed or Shade” panel discusses the controversy surrounding Sports Center co-anchor Jemele Hill’s and her tweets about Trump’s white supremacy.
While Hill’s co-workers have largely supported her, the president of ESPN is standing by his initial statement, saying that employees’ comments “should not be inflammatory or personal.”
ESSENCE’s Whitney Gaspard is on Hill’s side.
“Slayed to her for standing up for herself,” she said. “She’s not the first person to call him a white supremacist. There are a number of people, including news anchors, who have said the same thing.”
Check out what the rest of the panel thinks in the video above.
