Powerhouse couple Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith are expanding their entertainment empire.
Variety reports the pair is set to launch their own multimedia venture, which will include “short and mid-form digital content, as well as traditional TV shows and movies, in an effort to execute their global content.”
The company, Westbrook Inc., will begin launching content later this month.
“We are so excited to announce this new venture and fully immerse ourselves in all areas of the media and entertainment space,” the couple said in a statement. “With our incredible team of family, chosen family, and longtime business partners, Westbrook Inc.’s mission is to spread positive ideas, art, and products that entertain and empower the greatest number of lives, inspiring the next generation of artists to do good in the world.”
The launch of their company is just one thing on a long list of projects.
Pinkett Smith, who co-hosts Facebook’s Red Table Talk along with daughter Willow and mom Adrienne Banfield-Jones, is set to appear in the upcoming film Angel Has Fallen.
She’s also busy behind the camera, executive producing Life in a Year, Twelve, and Uptown Saturday Night. Earlier this year, Smith’s assist as executive producer on Hala was Apple’s first purchase at the Sundance Film Festival.
Will Smith recently appeared in the live-action remake of Aladdin, which has been a box-office success. He’s also attached to star in six upcoming films including Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys 4.
