Next time an award show wants to honor Solange or Beyoncé, they need to extend an invite to Tina Knowles Lawson.
The glam mom of two of world’s biggest artists recently popped up on Solange’s Instagram page to ask why she didn’t get an invite to her daughter’s Webby Award ceremony on Monday.
“Hi baby, I know we are all busy but next time let a sister know you are getting an award (or a momma),” Knowles Lawson said. “I miss you. Congratulations.”
As background, the 30-year-old took home the Webby Artist of the Year award for her album A Seat at the Table. She accepted the award —presented by artist, Kara Walker— to which she simply said, “I got five on it.”
Now, if you know anything about Mama Tina, it’s that she’s candid and incredibly cute on Instagram. The 63-year-old has 1.1 million followers on the social media app because of her beautiful, fun spirit.
Fun aside, she has a point. And hopefully now that she’s called out her daughter, Solange, she’ll get into formation and give mommy a call.
