After last year’s flub, we weren’t too sure Steve Harvey would get another chance to host the Miss Universe pageant, but it seems he’s planning to redeem himself.
It was announced Wednesday that Harvey would return to host the 2017 Miss Universe pageant. If you recall, Harvey announced the wrong winner during last year’s pageant, painfully backtracking and awarding the correct winner. Later, he took to social media to apologize, but made things a little worse with his apology to “Columbia” and “Philippians.”

Mark Shapiro, Chief Content Officer at WME IMG, which took over the Miss Universe pageant, said on The Jim Rome Show that he was open to having Harvey host again: “I’m sure FOX would support it, because as I said, he did a great job.
He was funny, he was informative, he’s high energy, he’s got a great following. The man is wildly successful in all different walks of life, with books and radio and television and so. I definitely want him back, and I would hate to see him not come back. He’s going to want a shot to redeem himself.”
Hopefully, Harvey gets it right the second time around. Good luck, Steve!
