R. Kelly is lawyering up.
The R&B singer, who was recently accused of holding women against their will, has beefed up his legal team, reportedly adding Billy Cosby’s attorney Monique Pressley to his roster.
According to The Daily Mail, sources revealed that Pressley, who stepped down from Cosby’s legal team last August, recently joined Kelly’s team. Pressley hasn’t commented on the report.
Linda Mensch, another attorney for Kelly, has been the only person on the singer’s team to issue a statement, telling reporters, “Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him. Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
Jocelyn Savage, a 21-year-old who is believed to be under Kelly’s control, issued a statement following claims that she was being held captive, stating she was happy and that the people around her had no control over her. Savage’s parent claim their daughter has Stockholm Syndrome.
