Nicki Minaj has the barbs wondering if she is married and pregnant by boyfriend Kenneth Petty.
The speculation started when Chance the Rapper dropped his new song “Zanies and Fools,” which included a verse from Minaj rapping about marriage and motherhood.
“He the Clyde to my Bonnie, ’bout to walk down the aisle and be a mommy,” raps Minaj on the track, which dropped Friday. “Ooh, I remember when I cried like, ‘Why me?’ / Now I wouldn’t exchange my life for Armani.”
Now fans are wondering if whether the song was an announcement.
The duo, who have known each other since they were teens, have been together since late last year.
Fans were initially nervous when the couple first began seeing each other due to Petty’s criminal past. He has served time for manslaughter and remains a registered sex offender in New York state.
Minaj has addressed his record, posting on Instagram that “he was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go awf internet.”
Whether or not she married Petty, Minaj confirmed in June that they had taken out a marriage license.
“We did get our marriage license,” Minaj said on her Apple Beats 1 “Queen Radio” show. “I think I have what I was striving for…just happiness. It was hard to get to a happy place. Now that I’m here I don’t want to compromise that for anyone or anything.”
