Nick Cannon was hospitalized this past weekend after doctors discovered two blood clots in his lungs, reports E! News.

Cannon, who was treated at the beginning of the year for kidney failure from which he never fully recovered, announced on Wednesday that he would be leaving his radio show indefinitely to focus on his health.

“My doctor was saying that my work is going to kill me — and he’s not joking,” said Cannon live on air.

“Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multitasking schedule.”

Despite his recent health scare, he will continue to perform some work responsibilities. “I will continue to host my syndicated Cannon’s Countdown weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep.”

As of right now, he’s still set to host the seventh season of America’s Got Talent later this year.

“I guess I can’t drive at 200 mph for the whole trip. Time to put the car in cruise control,” he tweeted.
